What Is MBSR?

Mindfulness‑Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an evidence‑based program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat‑Zinn. It blends mindfulness meditation, gentle movement, and practical awareness practices to help reduce stress, build resilience, and cultivate presence.

Through a structured 8‑week process, participants learn to recognize stress patterns and meet life with greater calm, clarity, and compassion.

MBSR includes teachings on:
• Perception and conditioning
• Automatic stress reactivity
• Mindfulness‑supported stress response
• Communication and relating
 
Program Structure
• Duration: 8 weeks
• Format: Weekly 2.5‑hour sessions + daily home practice
• Total Contact Hours: 31.5 (eligible for CEUs through your certifying body)
